The Kentucky Department of Workers' Claims will hold a public hearing next month to discuss proposed changes to regulations designed to prohibit unfair claims settlement practices.
The department can fine insurers that fail to properly notify injured workers when and why a claim was denied or threaten to appeal in order to compel a smaller settlement amount.
