Data Shows Spike in Liens following SB 863

Jerry Brown signed SB 863 into law, with more filings in the last three months of 2012 than all of 2011, according to the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau.As a result of the surge in lien filings in the latter half of the year, the total number of liens filed in 2012 hit 1,179,526, according to data the Rating Bureau compiled from the Electronic Adjudication Management System.Service providers filed 463,856 liens in all of 2011.The volume of lien activity in 2...
