Mechanic Charged With Felony Comp Fraud

A mechanic who allegedly operated his own shop and raced motorcycles after telling a qualified medical evaluator he was too injured to work was arraigned on two felony counts of workers’ compensation fraud, the California Department of Insurance announced. Richard James McGee, 47, allegedly misrepresented his injuries to receive more than $30,000 in benefits, the department said.
