Medical payments per workers’ compensation claim with more than seven days' lost time in California have continued to decrease since the Senate Bill 863 was enacted in 2013, according to a new report from the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
For claims with 12 months of experience, the average medical payment per claim decreased 3% per year from 2012-13 to 2015-16, WCRI said. Claims with 36 months of experience saw a 4% decrease per year in average medical payment.
