The New Jersey Assembly's Appropriations Committee will hold a hearing Monday morning on a bill that would require insurers to cover medical marijuana for injured workers.
A1708, co-sponsored by the committee chair, Assemblyman John Burzichelli, D-West Deptford, would give carriers and employers some protection on the legal issues around marijuana. They would not have to pay for the drug “upon intervention” by the federal government to enforce federal law.
