Richard Newman Takes Reins as Secretary of WCAB

Richard Newman has been appointed secretary and deputy commissioner of the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the board announced Friday. Newman replaces Rick Dietrich, who has retired. Newman was previously chief judge for the Division of Workers' Compensation, a position he held since September 2011. He previously worked for the division as an attorney, judge and presiding judge.
