Insurance Commissioner Moves to Shorten Notification Time for Canceled Policies

The Maryland Insurance Commissioner has proposed amending a rule that governs the terms of canceling a workers' compensation policy. The rule would require an insurer who cancels a workers' compensation policy for a reason other than nonpayment to send the notice of cancellation by first-class mail no fewer than 15 days before the effective date of cancellation.
