Tampa Electric Cited After Ammonia Leak That Hospitalized 4 Workers

Tampa Electric Co. and a firm that provides security to the utility have been issued federal safety citations following an ammonia leak that sent four workers to the hospital. Tampa Electric received citations for two serious violations from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA has proposed penalties of $18,108. The security company, Largo-based Critical Intervention Services, received citations for two serious violations, with proposed penalties of $25,350.
