A New York appellate court upheld an award of benefits to a worker’s widow for his suicide. Case: Matter of Meager v. Saratoga County Sewer District, No. 530442, 07/23/2020, published. Facts: Jonathan Wainwright Meager Jr. worked for the Saratoga County Sewer District. He suffered an injury to his head while at work in May 2015. Meager filed a workers’ compensation claim and began receiving benefits. In May 2017, he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after his family reported a suicide attempt.
