WSI Adopts Reimbursement Coding for Telemedicine Services

North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance has adopted the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology, or CPT, guidelines for telemedicine services. Telemedicine allows two-way, real-time interactive communication between the patient and a physician or practitioner at a distant site. Under the CPT guidelines, telemedicine services involve the use of interactive telecommunications equipment that, at a minimum, includes both audio and video.
