WSI Extends Window for Chiropractic Treatment Without Preauthorization

North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance will implement a change to its chiropractic pilot program, effective Jan. 1. The program currently requires chiropractors to obtain authorization for all treatment extending beyond the initial office visit. Based on preliminary data and provider feedback, WSI will alter the program to include a window period. WSI defines the window as a period of initial chiropractic treatment on a claim that does not require prior authorization.
