The Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation reported that 298 COVID-19 indemnity claims were filed in June, a drop of more than 60% compared to the 749 claims filed in May.
The DWC reports a total of 44,613 claims have been filed since January 2020.
The division also reports that Florida employers have paid $105.7 million to date on those claims, including $45.1 million on the 15,213 claims that are already closed.
Total costs for the majority of claims — 42,022 — were $4,999 or less. Another 1,581 claims had costs of between $5,000 and $9,999.
