The New York State Insurance Fund’s net income was $811 million last year, up from $519 million in 2015, according to an annual report released this week.
Net written premium held steady at $2.44 billion in 2016. Underwriting profit was $569 million, up from $319 million in 2015, while net investment income grew to $646 million, from $616 million in 2015. The figures are for the workers’ compensation fund; NYSIF also runs a disability fund.
