Governor Approves Suspension of Required Medical Exams During Crisis

In keeping with his declaration of a statewide public health disaster, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has approved a request to suspend required medical exams for injured workers, the latest order of several that have slowed the state workers' compensation system to a crawl. The Division of Workers' Compensation said in a bulletin Friday that the governor had approved its request to relax more standards and requirements.
