The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced that proposed rules addressing death benefits and limitations on the filing of fee bills are pending a “commonsense” review.
Proposed changes to the death benefit rules would revise language to clarify that a dependent must be a family member of the deceased employee, a spouse, lineal descendant, ancestor, brother or sister.
The BWC is also proposing language that would require that fee bills for medical or vocational rehabilitation services be provided within one year from the date of service.
