The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued $7,000 in penalties to a Birmingham, Alabama therapy center for failing to protect employees from violence, including cases where workers had been stabbed by clients.
Inspectors with OSHA found that the company, Gateway, had failed to protect its workers from teenagers who had shown signs of aggression, which resulted in workers suffering bruises, bites, contusions and stab wounds, according to a release from the administration.
