Yonkers Livery Driver Charged with Comp Fraud

A driver in New York City's livery industry has been charged with cheating the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) out of more than $9,000 in workers' compensation benefits, the fund announced Friday.The announcement comes amid a campaign by the New York State Workers' Compensation Board (SWCB) to sign up New York City area livery dispatch bases as members of the New York State Independent Livery Drivers Benefit Fund.Lawmakers created the fund in 2008 to ensure that drivers are covered for injuries incurred from assaults, robberies and other crimes.
