Florida workers' compensation regulators appear to be crafting a sweeping new rule through the use of instructional notes to limit insurers' ability to conduct medical utilization reviews, insurance representatives said at a workshop Wednesday.
“It seems that this is a rule in itself in the guise of an instructional note,” said Ralph Douglas, with Tallahassee insurance defense firm McConnaughhay, Coonrod, Pope, Weaver and Stern.
