State Proposes Reimbursement for Telemedicine

The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations has proposed rules that would add reimbursement for "telemedicine" − or remote provision of medical services − to its medical fee schedule, a growing practice in the general health care industry that appears to still be relatively rare in workers' compensation systems.The notice for a public workshop to be held on Oct. 5 states that "certain medical advances which leverage high-speed, high-definition Internet capability are available that promise expanded and expedited care for injured employees in rural or remote areas of Nevada."Cha...
