Claimants' Attorney Admits Pocketing $2.5M of Clients' Money

A disbarred Georgia claimants' attorney admitted in federal court on Tuesday that he pocketed $2.5 million of his clients' money for personal use, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.Miles Lamar Gammage of Cedartown, Ga., admitted to defrauding more than 50 injured workers out of settlement funds, federal prosecutors told the newspaper. He faces up to 20 years in prison and will be sentenced in May by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the newspaper said.
