Federal prosecutors announced that the owner of a company providing construction services and labor who “used a shell of lies” to evade tax obligations and workers’ compensation expenses was sentenced to two years in federal prison for fraud.
Ricky Gonzalez was also ordered to forfeit more than $500,000, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced.
Gonzalez had agreements to provide workers to contractors and subcontractors. He reported to workers’ compensation carriers that he employed only a few people who worked on construction job...
