Initiative to Exempt Drivers From AB 5 Qualifies for Ballot

California voters will have a chance to exempt drivers for companies including Uber and Lyft from the state’s new law that classifies them as employees. The California Secretary of State on Friday added the Protect App-Based Drivers and Services Act to the list of statewide initiatives that are eligible to be included on November’s ballot.
