Workers’ compensation claims among hospital workers in California increased in severity but decreased in frequency during the 10 years ending in 2014, according to a new report from Keenan and Milliman.
As a result, overall losses per $100 of payroll remained flat during that period, the report said.
The estimated cost per indemnity claim for accidents occurring in 2014 decreased about 10% compared to the prior year, according to the report. Projected 2015 loss cost per $100 of payroll was $2.20.
