Alaska lawmakers over the weekend passed a bill that would create a conclusive presumption that COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, is an occupational disease for first responders and health care providers.
Senate Bill 241, introduced by the Senate Rules Committee at the request of Gov. Mike Donleavy, addresses several issues relating to the pandemic. Provisions in the bill cover topics including telehealth, state tax deadlines and legal issues such as evictions, wills and repossessions.
