A woman in charge of several Massachusetts temporary employment agencies will report to federal prison on March 1 to serve a two-year sentence on tax evasion charges.
Prosecutors accused Souleang Kane, 48, of running an “off-the-books payroll scheme” for five years to avoid federal employment taxes and reduce her companies’ workers’ compensation insurance premiums.
She pleaded guilty in October to 18 counts of failure to pay taxes and five counts of mail fraud.
