Pipeline Company Agrees to Shut Down After Trenching Violations

A Michigan pipeline company has agreed to cease operations as part of an agreement to resolve federal safety citations issued for trenching hazards. Kamphuis Pipeline Co., based in Grand Rapids, will also pay penalties of $509,071 under the agreement with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The agreement resolves three OSHA inspections conducted at Kamphuis Pipeline Co. work sites in September and October 2017, the agency said in news release.
