ICA Schedules Hearing on Special Fund Assessment

The Industrial Commission of Arizona is holding a public hearing May 27 to gather information regarding a 0.5% assessment. Carriers pay an assessment equal to 1% of premiums to cover obligations of the state’s Special Fund. Self-insured employers are assessed 1% of claim costs. The commission can levy an additional 0.5% assessment if the total annual reserved liabilities of the Special Fund exceed $6 million.
