Governor Orders Lawmakers Back Into Session to End Budget Gridlock

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner took to Facebook on Thursday and sent a videotaped message to Democrats who control the House and Senate: “Get things done.” Rauner ordered lawmakers back into a special session starting Wednesday — 10 days before the state is scheduled to begin a third straight fiscal year without a budget, the longest of any state in history.
