High Court Suspends Law License of Attorney Convicted of Comp Fraud

The Ohio Supreme Court imposed a two-year suspension on an attorney for his felony conviction for workers’ compensation fraud. Case: Disciplinary Counsel v. Fitz, No. 2022-0363, 09/08/2022, published. Facts: Robert Edward Fitz was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1972. Since 1991, Fitz has applied for and obtained workers' compensation policies from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation for 12 housecleaning businesses, many of which operated under similar names.
