Industrial Commission Posts Draft Audit Guidelines for Review

The Idaho Industrial Commission posted to its website draft audit guidelines for public review and comment.

The commission conducts periodic audits to ensure carriers and self-insured employers are complying with claims adjustment requirements.

Draft guidelines outline types of claims that will be reviewed during the audits, including all total permanent disability claims and fatality claims, and a sample of other claims. The commission will examine whether payments were timely, whether payers correctly calculated benefits owed to injured workers and whether they’re promptly reporting claims information to the state.

The commission will accept public comments on the draft guidelines until 5 p.m. Dec. 22.
