Purdue Pharma allegedly told doctors that patients who appeared to be addicted to opioids were only “pseudo-addicted” and actually needed more opioids, according to a lawsuit filed against the drugmaker on Tuesday.
The suit was filed by Attorney General Alan Wilson in South Carolina, the latest state to sue Purdue and other drugmakers over opioids. Other states include Oklahoma, Mississippi, Ohio, Missouri and New Hampshire.
