The Democratic-led House is expected as early as today to attempt an override of Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s vetoes of a tax hike and spending plan.
The Democrats will need at least four Republican defections to reach the 71 votes, or three-fifths majority, needed to strike down Rauner’s veto of a $36 billion spending plan, and another bill that would raise income and corporate taxes by $5 billion.
