Commission's Delay in Issuing Order Doesn't Warrant Additional Time to Appeal

A narrowly divided Mississippi Court of Appeals ruled that a worker who received belated notice about the order in her case was not entitled to additional time to file a petition for review. Case: Dildy v. McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors, No. 2019-WC-00236-COA, 05/05/2020, published. Facts: Kathryn Dildy worked for McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors. She suffered an on-the-job injury and filed a workers’ compensation claim. On Nov. 29, 2018, an administrative judge issued a final order on the claim. It was filed five days later, on Dec. 4, but it was apparently not mailed to the parties....
