Acupuncture Pilot Program May End Early Following Promising Results

Preliminary results from a Washington State Department of Labor and Industries pilot program show that acupuncture produced a meaningful reduction in pain for more than half of injured workers with lower-back pain who completed a course of treatment. In addition to the 69 out of 131 pilot program participants who experienced a “meaningful clinical improvement” in pain, another 38 had a reduction in pain that didn’t reach the “meaningful clinical” level.
