As the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association opened its annual summer conference Thursday morning, attorney Monica Fairwell said what many attendees were probably thinking.
“I really wish we could all be in San Diego right now,” said Fairwell, an associate with Southern California-based Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton and Goldstein, also known as GEKLAW.
The annual conference was moved away from the sun and sand thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced many of the state’s workers who were lucky enough to avoid layoffs into remote jobs.
