Employer Accuses Brokers of Providing False Certificate of Coverage

A Central California employer is suing insurance brokers, two brokerage firms and a professional employer organization of selling her bogus workers’ compensation coverage. Karey Fidalgo, doing business as Central Cal Ag in Fresno, said she paid more than $200,000 for workers’ compensation coverage only to learn after “an incident” in May 2015 that killed two workers and seriously injured a third that she was uninsured.
