Labor Commissioner Says Comp Laws Due for Overhaul

The commissioner of Alaska’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced plans to pursue a workers’ compensation “overhaul” in an opinion article published by the Anchorage Daily News. Heidi Drygas said her department will continue negotiations over proposals to update the state’s workers’ compensation system with lawmakers and stakeholders during the 2018 legislative session.
