The Alaska Workers’ Compensation Division said injured workers who are at a higher risk of getting COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus, will not have to attend second independent medical evaluations when doing so requires air travel.
The division said air travel is the only way for some injured workers to get to many of the providers who perform independent exams. And the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said high-risk patients should avoid non-essential air travel until further notice.
