Just as budget cuts forced the Florida Office of Judges of Compensation Claims to eliminate four mediator positions, the number of petitions for benefits mediated by the office jumped 8%, reversing a long-term trend, according to a report on mediation statistics prepared by OJCC Chief Deputy Judge David Langham.The report states that the OJCC mediated 21,440 petitions during the 2012-13 fiscal year, which ended June 30, up from 19,891 in 2011-12.
