Claimant Pleads Guilty in Fraud Case

The California Department of Insurance reported that a woman who falsified documents to receive an additional $10,590 in benefits pleaded guilty to felony counts of insurance fraud and identity theft. Marlene Cavalcanti, 40, filed a claim for injuries she said she sustained during a fall while working as an executive assistant.
