Bucy is leaving her position to join a private law firm in Helena, KRTV reported. Gov. Steve Bullock announced her departure on Tuesday. The governor has yet to name a replacement.

Bullock appointed Bucy to serve as commissioner in January 2013. During Bucy’s tenure, the state has seen a steady decrease in workplace injuries, the sixth fastest wage growth in the nation and the greatest number of Montanans employed at any time in the state’s history, according to a statement from the governor’s office.

Bucy ran for attorney general as a Democrat in 2012, losing to Republican Tim Fox, who is Montana’s current A.G.
