Zurich Insurance Co. has won a $19 million, one-year contract to replace BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co. as the workers' compensation insurer for West Virginia state government, The Charleston Daily Mail reported.Acting Insurance Commissioner Michael Riley called the contract "the final step of privatization" that began with the launch of BrickStreet on Jan. 1, 2006.Riley said the state determined that Zurich's bid was preferable to a $21.5 million bid submitted by BrickStreet, which offered coverage with no deductible.
