Man Pleads Guilty to Workers' Comp Fraud, Gets 2 Years' Probation

A Southern California man has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to workers’ compensation fraud, according to local media reports. Angel Luis Maces, 24, of San Jacinto, admitted to faking an injury in order to collect “tens of thousands of dollars” in fraudulent comp benefits, MyNewsLA reported. Maces pleaded guilty to one count of insurance fraud as part of a plea deal he struck with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
