State Awaiting Purdue Pharma's Appeal on Suit about OxyContin Misbranding

Seven years after deciding not to participate in a multi-state settlement with Purdue Pharma L.P. for misbranding OxyContin, the state of Kentucky is pushing ahead with its own lawsuit against the drug maker, accusing it of helping to foster the state’s problem with narcotic abuse. Both the state, led by Attorney General Jack Conway, and Purdue Pharma are now waiting on the results of an appeal by Purdue to the state Supreme Court, which involves a Pike County Circuit Court judge’s ruling that Purdue missed a deadline to respond to a list of potential admissions posed by the state...
