2nd DCA Revives Some Premier Medical Management Liens

A workers' compensation judge must revisit whether the executives of Premier Medical Management had the authority to dismiss a care provider's lien as part of a plea deal in the criminal case against them, the 2nd District Court of Appeal ruled. In an unpublished decision Friday, the court noted there was evidence that Premier had the authority to dismiss some of the liens it had been assigned, but said there was no evidence that the Universal Psychiatric Medical Center had empowered Premier to do so. Universal's attorney, Dawn Coulson of Epps & Coulson, said her clie...
