Judge Who Spent Time as WCJ Disbarred Over Theft of Cocaine From Drug Court

A Pennsylvania county-court judge who briefly served as a workers’ compensation judge in Alaska was disbarred on Thursday after being convicted of stealing cocaine from a drug-court evidence locker. It was the drug court that Paul Pozonsky founded while serving as judge for the Court of Common Pleas. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court called Pozonsky’s actions a “shocking and willful abuse of his office.” All seven justices agreed that the only appropriate way to “preserve the integrity of the legal profession” was to disbar the 62-year-old former judge. ...
