Longtime Comp Judge to Retire

Workers’ Compensation Court Judge Debra Olsson, a 1991 appointee of then-Gov. Bruce Sundlun, will retire Dec. 31 after 26 years on the bench, the Providence Journal reported. Olsson will receive a $144,717 pension, the newspaper reported. Before becoming a judge, she was deputy director and chief legal counsel to the former Department of Workers’ Compensation, according to the Rhode Island Bar Association, and since 2001 has been the lead judge of the appellate division of the Workers’ Compensation Court.
