The federal Mine Safety and Health Administration has published two proposed rules in the Federal Register that would change the agency’s final rule on examinations of workplaces in metal and nonmetal mines.
One of the proposed rules would further delay the effective date of the final rule, to March 2. The extension would give MSHA more time to provide training and compliance assistance, the U.S. Department of Labor said in a news release. The deadline to submit comments on the proposed extension is Sept. 26.
