Second Injury Fund Liabilities Drop to $210 Million

The estimated unfunded liability for Florida’s second injury fund fell to $210 million in the most recent fiscal year from $226 million at the same point last year. Aon Risk Solutions reported actual paid losses of $25.7 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30, down from the $30.5 million paid last year. Aon said about $4.8 million, or 20% of payments in the most recent fiscal year, arose from nine claims with payments of more than $350,000 each.
