Baker Says Lien Fees to Offset Employer Assessments

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Department of Industrial Relations is planning to use fees collected from lien claimants to offset assessments and reduce the charge to employers who cover the full cost of operating California’s workers’ compensation system.How much of a break employers will see in next year’s assessments ultimately depends on how many claimants who have already filed liens pay the $100 activation fee before the end of the year.
